Project Overview: Climate Risk Ready (CRR) – Western Sydney University
Lomandra Environmental was proudly engaged as environmental consultants for the Climate Risk Ready (CRR) program, a critical initiative aimed at building climate resilience within the NSW government sector. As part of this project, we facilitated the training of over one hundred students across NSW, interstate, and local government departments. The training was part of a comprehensive climate adaptation and risk management program, with a specific focus on climate risks, opportunities, and science.
Key Services Provided
As part of this project, Lomandra Environmental was responsible for:
✔ Training Delivery: We provided online training across three tranches for government employees, enhancing their understanding of ISO31000 risk management standards, climate adaptation strategies, and climate science.
✔ Climate Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Lomandra Environmental guided participants through understanding the essential components of identifying and managing climate risks and opportunities, ensuring that all relevant risks are assessed and strategies developed to build climate resilience.
✔ Collaborative Development: Lomandra worked closely with NSW Treasury to support the development of the Climate Risk Ready (CRR) guide, a framework designed to help government departments and agencies identify, assess, and manage climate risks and opportunities in line with statewide sustainability goals.
✔ Climate Science Integration: The training included a thorough introduction to climate science, providing participants with the knowledge to effectively incorporate this science into climate adaptation planning for their respective departments and agencies.
Partnership with Western Sydney University
This project was delivered through WSU The College, where Lomandra Environmental facilitated expert-led, online training for government employees from across NSW, ensuring accessibility and comprehensive delivery of the content. The program was designed to upskill government staff on climate risk management and prepare them for climate adaptation challenges ahead.

Enhanced Climate Resilience: By completing the Climate Risk Ready training, over one hundred government employees are now better equipped to identify and mitigate climate risks within their departments.
